Tree Service in Bridgewater

Taunton River bottomland where the soil stays wet and red maple grows fast and splits.

Bridgewater sits on the Taunton River with the Hockomock wetlands to the north, so a lot of the town is genuinely low, wet ground that never fully dries out between storms.

Red maple is the signature tree of that ground. It grows fast, forms tight forks with included bark, and splits at the union rather than breaking cleanly.

Saturated soil is the other half of the problem: it will not hold a large root plate in a sustained wind, which is why whole-tree failure is more common here than on the drier ground east of town.
