Tree Service in Plymouth

The largest town in the state by area, running from coastal bluff to inland pine barrens.

Plymouth covers more ground than any other town in Massachusetts, and the conditions change completely across it. The coast is salt wind and bluff exposure; a few miles inland is genuine pine barrens on sand.

Pitch pine dominates the barrens. It is a fire-adapted tree that carries dead lower limbs as a matter of habit, so a pitch pine that looks half dead is often structurally fine, while one that has actually failed shows very little from the ground.

On the coastal side, salt aerosol and sustained onshore wind shape crowns asymmetrically. Those trees carry their weight to the landward side, which is where they go when they go.
