Tree Service in Walpole

Heavily wooded lots where the treeline was left standing and is now leaning over the house.

Walpole is one of the more wooded towns in Norfolk County, and a lot of its housing was cut into standing forest with a screen of trees deliberately left along the property line. Those edge trees grew up inside a stand and were never wind-firm on their own.

Hemlock in this part of the state has been under sustained pressure from hemlock woolly adelgid. A grey, thinning hemlock next to a driveway is usually further along than it looks from the ground.

Red oak here gets very large and holds heavy lateral limbs. The failures are rarely the whole tree; they are single limbs coming out of a union that has been carrying too much for too long.
